Get Creative with Custom Screens

August 8, 2013

featuredMarkNo two companies are exactly the same. Especially when it comes to HR – different companies store employee data in a thousand different ways.

But although these quirks (nuances, differences) make each company subtly unique, they also bring a wealth of complications… they make HR admin challenging.

OK, so at People, we believe we cater for around 90% of what most companies need. And that’s pretty good going. But we want to go ‘the whole 9 yards’… we want that elusive 100%. And that’s where our HR system’s flexibility really kicks in. For example:

Joyce at ‘Sneaky Socks Inc.’ needs to store info on employees’ records from the RSDS-14 form. We have no idea what that is, but Joyce certainly does! So, as an innovative HR software company, do we ignore the unique requirement? No! We offer an easy solution: Custom Screen Design.

Let’s have a go together:

  1. Hit ‘Logbook’ to the left of an employee’s record
  2. Expand the drop-down menu sitting in the top right
  3. Select the option titled ‘Add New Screen’.

If you were Joyce, you’d now be filling out something to do with the RSDS-14 form… but you’re not Joyce, you’re you. Maybe you want to keep a:

  • ‘Career Achievements’ record
  • ‘Sales Bonus’ record
  • ‘Dates Employee was Thanked by a Customer’ record…

Whatever it is, you can do it. Simply give your new screen a title, then add the fields you want. This new screen will then be available for all employee records forever.
