How to Create Custom Screens Using People™

We’ve written about our custom screen designer before. But a recent conversation I had with an HR professional reminded me how useful this feature really is to a lot of companies, so I wanted to bring it up again.
A Story about Car Credits
Somebody recently told me that the most frustrating thing about HR software was the inability to record specific, custom information about employees.
She said that in her company, people were rewarded for driving their colleagues to meetings and events – they called the scheme Car Credits. Each time a person drove colleagues to a work-related event, they earned one credit. At the end of the month, the person with the most credits won a prize.
It was a friendly, light-hearted scheme that really worked for the company culture. But the problem was that the company couldn’t record these Car Credits in their HR system. It just wouldn’t let them.
For many people, this might seem like a small thing – but for the lady I spoke to, it wasn’t. And it reminded me that every company is unique in terms of how it works, the incentives it provides employees, and ultimately, the kind of information it wants to record.
Our Screen Designer Lets You Record Anything
It’s really easy to record any information you want using People™. Here’s how you do it:
- Open an employee’s record
- Hit the ‘Log Book’ option
- Open the drop-down menu at the top right hand side, and select ‘Create New Screen’
The rest is very self-explanatory, and you’ve now created a completely custom screen that you can use for all employees to record whatever information you like.
