Equal Employment Opportunity

According to a recent report published by tradearabia.com, women now have the same chances as men when it comes to finding employment with small and medium-sized businesses in the United Arab Emirates.

The article discusses recent research conducted by business intelligence company MEED, and suggests that out of the companies participating in the study, about 50% said they employed an equal number of men and women, with 40% even reporting a majority of women than men on their payroll.

The research was compiled as a contribution to the UAE’s Gulf Capital SME Awards – an event that praises excellent SMEs as a whole, as well as outstanding leaders and entrepreneurs.

As part of the awards, honours were given to small and medium-sized businesses who created positive working environments, and who invested in the development of their people – something we, here at People, are very proud to hear, considering that people are any company’s strongest assets.

According to the study, equal employment opportunity in the UAE has taken a significant step forward recently, and it is SMEs that have been largely responsible for this.
