Posture Changes to Help You Work Better

Bad posture can affect you in many ways – especially at work. By changing your posture, you will be helping your body stay healthier for longer, which in turn will help you be more productive at work.

Here are 4 simple posture changes that might help you perform better, and most importantly of all, feel better.

1. When Sleeping

Improving your posture is not all about your posture at work or during the day – you can help your body at night, too. Instead of lying completely flat, try placing a cushion underneath your knee.

2. When Lifting

If you bend at the waist when lifting any object from the floor, then you’re doing it wrong – instead, try crouching, using your knees, to take the strain off your back.

3. When Washing

Not many people know this, but when bending over the sink to wash your face, you should follow a similar rule to when lifting – take some of the strain off your back by bending slightly at the knees when you lean forward.

4. When Sitting

Everybody has been told at some point to straighten their back when sitting – well, it’s really important! When at work, you should make sure your bum is right against the base of your backrest, with your back fully resting against it (instead of having your bum on the edge of the seat and leaning back to make a spinal bridge!)
