Case Study: GLAD Solutions

GLAD Solutions is an innovative e-learning provider that helps businesses move forward using a range of learning and development programmes. We were really pleased when GLAD Solutions chose People™ as their HR Software provider. Today, we chat with Ryan O’Connell – the Managing Director of GLAD Solutions – to find out how People’s HR software has helped their business since implementation.

“People™ Has Improved Our Knowledge of HR”

When I asked Ryan how People™ had helped his company the most so far, he told me that it had given their team a better overall knowledge of HR.

People™ has a brilliant collection of help and guidance” says Ryan. “This helps us to not just make the most of the software, but to fully-understand our HR responsibilities, too”.

One of the unique areas within People™ is our FollowME™ functionality – a feature that offers expert advice in real-time, such as when there is an important decision to be made, or when critical information might be missing from a newly-created record.

Another way Ryan says that People™ has helped GLAD Solutions with their general HR processes, is by making it easier to access important information.

As a visa sponsor, we have certain responsibilities around the information we hold on each employee, and how easy it is for us to access. People™ makes this very easy, and is a key part of complying with Home Office requirements when hiring migrant workers”.

Favourite Feature: Bradford Factor

Ryan says that his favourite feature is Bradford Factor Scoring.

This is a feature that automatically analyses individual staff absence patterns, and then calculates each person’s Bradford Factor score – a score that highlights how serious individual absence trends might be for the company.

I can see patterns of sickness that would be otherwise very difficult to see” explains Ryan. “I use Bradford Factor to share statistics with the Line Manager for easier sickness management, and we have used this newfound knowledge to implement a capability management process”.

How the Rest of the GLAD Solutions Team Feels About People™

For the rest of Ryan’s workforce, the firm favourite is the Self Service functionality. Ryan tells me that staff love using their own personal planner to book time off work, directly from their Internet browser or mobile phone. He also says that having access to the company’s HR system has helped his workforce to understand more about the roles and responsibilities of both themselves and their colleagues.

Improving Morale & Better Time Management

The final point Ryan mentions when asked how else People™ has helped his company, is the TOIL feature (Time Off In Lieu).

This feature lets us allow our employees to accrue and use time more effectively. This alone has improved our staff morale, and led directly to a more productive workforce”.
