The Most In-Demand HR Skills and Competencies in London

HR jobs in London are booming. According to hrmagazine.co.uk, a recent report by Badenoch & Clark has shown a 15% increase in the number of permanent hires for HR roles in London, which is a very encouraging outlook for the HR community.
According to the report, the top HR skills and competencies London companies are looking for, fall into four main areas:
– Compensation
– Benefits
– Reward
– Employee Relations
So what does this tell us about the way businesses are approaching HR in 2015?
A Growing Focus on Upskilling and Retention?
Although developing attractive compensation, benefits and reward packages are certainly areas of HR that play a part in attracting new employees, they are also key parts of nurturing an existing workforce. Add into the equation that businesses are seeking employee relations skills, and it seems even more likely that what we might be seeing, is a focus by businesses on upskilling and retaining the people who already work for them.
According to Matt Gascoigne – an executive director with Badenoch & Clark, who published the report – this train of thought is correct: “Organisations must look to hold onto key staff and top performers… as a result, companies are looking to hire those experienced at co-ordinating benefits and reward schemes”.
