5 Companies that Really Know How to Interview

Interviews are terrifying. Even if you know you can do the job, and the people you’re meeting are the most delightful people on earth, it doesn’t change that fact. You could have a totally positive experience, and still be a bag of nerves the whole way through. Of course, when an interview turns out to be a bad experience, well that’s a whole other story – such as the time one interviewer ripped up a candidate’s resume right in front of them because they were jealous.

But today we don’t want to focus on the bad, we want to focus on the good. If you want a really great interview experience, then take a look at any of these top 20 places to have an interview in the UK, as published by the Telegraph. We’ll give you the results of the top 5 companies below.

5th Place: PwC

PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) is a leading international financial consultancy, with their UK headquarters in London.

On the Top 20 Places to Interview UK list, they reached 5th place, with an average candidate satisfaction score of 95%!

4th Place: Primark

The leading High Street budget clothing chain, Primark has more than 290 stores across the UK, Ireland, Europe and the USA.

On the Top 20 Places to Interview UK list, they reached 4th place, with an average candidate satisfaction score of 95%!

3rd Place: Mott Macdonald

Global engineering firm Mott Macdonald was established in 1989, and provides an all-inclusive engineering, management and development consultancy service that reaches across the globe.

On the Top 20 Places to Interview UK list, they reached 3rd place, with an average candidate satisfaction score of 96%!

2nd Place: BDO

BDO is a specialist international tax and accounting consultancy, with nearly 20 offices in the UK, and many more overseas.

On the Top 20 Places to Interview UK list, they reached 2nd place, with an average candidate satisfaction score of 96%!

1st Place: EDF Energy

EDF Energy is a leading gas and electricity supplier, supplying millions of homes and businesses in the UK, and is classed as one of the “big six” energy suppliers.

On the Top 20 Places to Interview UK list, they reached 1st place, with an average candidate satisfaction score of 100%!

How the Scoring Works

The Telegraph built their top 20 list using data from popular jobs and recruiting website Glassdoor. Candidates are able to rate their experiences with companies on this website, including their experience in the interview room. Scores were included from all candidates who rated the company, regardless of whether or not they got the job – so we’re pretty impressed with EDF’s average of 100%!

Hopefully we’ll be following up on some of these companies, and looking at their interview techniques to find out what candidates loved about them so much. In the meantime, if you want to get a positive interview experience to help you overcome your fears, then why not apply for a job with one of these five companies?
