Mobile is a very important part of what we do here at People HR. You may have seen our video about how we’re enabling a more mobile future for HR – it sets out our strategy for staying ahead of how quickly people are migrating their workloads from their desks to their pockets.
So today, I want to show you that we’re putting our money where our mouths are. That we’re following through with our vision to never sit still with development. To show you that no matter how, or where, you manage your workforce, we’re aiming to keep up the pace and help you grow.
So with this in mind, here are the new features we’ve just released for the People® HR mobile app for Android and iPhone.
If you’re already using the mobile app to request holidays and process expenses, then why not keep all relevant communication in the same place?
There’s no need to get lost in complex email threads or untraceable telephone calls, because the People® HR app now supports chat between managers and their team members.
- Managers can chat to any member of their team
- Admin can chat to any employee within the company
- Conversations can be securely stored, archived, or deleted
Many customers were looking for a better way to tie HR-related conversations with the relevant tools, and now you can. Chat is easy to use, and will feel just as familiar as the messaging apps you and your team are already fond of.
If you enable the tap in/out feature, then your employees will be able to clock in and out using the People® HR app. They simply tap in when they arrive, and tap out when they leave.
What’s more, if you set up auto mode, then employees won’t even need to tap – People® will be able to clock employees when it detects that they have arrived, using geofencing technology.
Setting up auto mode is easy. Simply enter your postcode, find your address, and then decide the size of your perimeter on the map.
Note: If you read our article about what HR software will look like in 100 years, then you might be disappointed to learn that this feature is not available as a microchip. Yet!
Single sign on (SSO)
Finally, we’re extending Single Sign On (SSO) to the mobile app. This means that account security gets tighter, and employees need to remember fewer passwords, as they can use the same single point of authentication for their mobile app as they use when they sign in online.
This was previously only available via the web app.
How to download the People® HR app
If this is your first time using the app, the administrator will need to switch it on in settings. Simply visit Settings, hit Mobile (at the bottom), and check the box that says Allow Mobile.
Once done, you and your employees can all download the app using the links below.
